I am an independent residential building surveyor based near Honiton in the beautiful east Devon countryside where I live with my wife, two boys and our dog.

 

I take great pride in my work, always providing a high standard of service, operating in a trustworthy, respectful, responsible and professional manner.

 

I recognise that the purchase of a property is one of the largest investments you will ever make. My role is to provide you with helpful information from your home survey report to make sure that your investment is both wise and considered.

 

Being an independent residential surveyor has benefits for you:

  • I am not restricted by having a corporate structure above me

  • I only carry out one Building Survey or Home Buyer Survey per day, which allows me to focus on providing the best report for you.

  • I am able to spend time with you to discuss your requirements in depth so that you benefit as much as possible from your home survey report.

  • I am also happy to speak with you over the phone about any particular issues within your final report

I am fully qualified as a residential surveyor with the Diploma in Residential Surveying and Valuation (DipRSV) via the Surveyors and Valuers Accreditation (Sava). My training focused purely on residential properties, providing me with a specialism in that field.

I am an AssocRICS member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a RICS Regulated Firm. As such, I comply with the high standards that the RICS demands of its members.

Who are the RICS? The RICS is the governing body for residential surveying in the UK and the world’s leading professional body for qualifications and standards in land, property and construction. RICS works to act in the public interest through ensuring their members meet the highest standards of professionalism and trade knowledge.

I take my continual profession development (CPD) very seriously by investing in courses to keep up-to-date with the latest surveying practices and safety guidelines.

I specialise in Building Surveys on period, Listed and thatched properties.

I have experience with a wide range of properties from large high value modern new builds to 18th Century country houses.

 

I like to help support surveying students by providing shadowing opportunities for them, so that they can gain on-site experience.
